Natalie Portman has recalled meeting Prince Charles in 1999 when she was 18, and how the member of the British royal family--who is now king--asked if she was in the original Star Wars movies.

"I was like, 'No, I'm 18!' But he was very friendly," Portman said on Watch What Happens Live, as reported by Variety.

Portman was born in 1981, which was four years after the original Star Wars movie debuted in 1977. She was cast by George Lucas as Padme Amidala for the prequel series that premiered in 1999 and spawned multiple sequels in the early 2000s.

Disney and Lucasfilm are making a lot of Star Wars projects these days, and bringing back people like Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen to reprise their iconic Star Wars characters. Could Portman be next? She said "no one has asked" about her coming back, but she said, "I'm open to it."

Padme died in Revenge of the Sith, which might complicate her return, but anything is possible in Hollywood.

In related news, Taika Watiti, who is developing a Star Wars movie, asked Portman if she would ever want to appear in a Star Wars film, forgetting that she starred in a trilogy already.

There are a number of Star Wars projects in the works, including new Star Wars movies from Waititi, Dave Filoni, and James Mangold. Daisy Ridley is coming back to play Rey in a new Star Wars movie from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
