The No. 20 GameStop-sponsored car NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth will drive around the track this weekend at the Nationwide Series History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will feature Mario Kart 8 graphics, Nintendo announced today. It's not the strangest hood sponsor we've ever seen, as that would probably go to the Dogecoin car Josh Wise drove earlier this month.

The Nationwide Series History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will be held tomorrow, May 24, in Charlotte, North Carolina. If you're attending the race yourself, you can play Mario Kart 8 at gaming kiosks on location and even snap a picture with Mario or Luigi. In addition, fans can meet Kenseth himself and get an autograph, and also score a Mario Kart poster.

Mario Kart 8 launches exclusively for Wii U on May 30 and you can read our review (and what other critics are saying) right now. The game has a lot to live up to, as predecessor Mario Kart Wii sold over 35.5 million copies, becoming the Wii's best-selling non-bundled game of all time.
