Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Expansion Announced, Stars Naruto's Son

New characters will be included as part of the expansion.

Bandai Namco has announced an expansion for its fighting game, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. The expansion is titled Road to Boruto and stars titular character Boruto, the son of Naruto Uzumaki. In it, players will be able to experience the events of Boruto: Naruto the Movie from the character's perspective via an all-new adventure mode.

Road to Boruto will be released digitally for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on February 3. The expansion will carry a launch price of $20. It will also introduce some new characters to the game from the film, with Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha confirmed. These two characters were previously only available to players who had pre-ordered Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 at specific retailers.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 was released in February this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game sold well in the US, placing fourth in physical sales charts for the month of February upon release.

The game was positively-received in GameSpot's review, scoring a 7 out of 10. Critic Heidi Kemps praised the title for its fun fast-paced fighting mechanics and superb visuals, but criticised the game's online play and lack of depth in combat.
