Namco trademarks three Tales titles
Has the publisher let news of future games slip, or is it merely taking preemptive steps?
TOKYO--According to the Japanese Trademark Office, Namco has registered three names of what seem to be possible titles for its Tales role-playing-game franchise. The records show that on December 28, 2004, Namco trademarked the names Tales of Harmonia, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of Mirage. Each mark comes with simple text logos and features no additional graphical designs.
Since companies often register names that are mere candidates for future products, it's possible that none of the three trademarks will ever be used...although it's also just as likely that we may be looking at the names of future game releases.
