Namco celebrates 50th birthday with compilation
Ridge Racer, Tekken, Ace Combat 2, Klonoa, and Mr. Driller are being ported to the PS2 in one convenient disc.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Namco will release a game compilation in Japan titled NamCollection. The game commemorates the company's 50th year in business.
The PlayStation 2 compilation will consist of five classic PlayStation games: arcade driving game Ridge Racer, flagship fighting game Tekken, flight-combat simulator Ace Combat 2, fantasy-inspired platformer Klonoa, and quirky puzzler Mr. Driller. The compilation will also include a gallery mode where gamers can check out game-related illustrations and sample movies on how to play the games included.
NamCollection is currently 80 percent complete. The compilation is slated for release on June 2 at the price of 3,990 Yen ($38). There's no word on whether it will make its way to North America.
