TOKYO--According to Impress Gamewatch, Namco will be exhibiting a new car game, titled Rune Chaser, at the Tokyo Game Show, which is set to take place next week in Japan.

In Rune Chaser, drivers get to freely race through a large fictitious metropolis named Prio City while taking on a variety of missions, such as transporting objects, destroying targets, avoiding enemies, and escorting people to safety. Gamers won't be limited to specific courses, and they can take whatever paths they wish to fulfill their mission requirements. Rune Chaser features a story-driven scenario mode as well as a free-driving mode. Namco says that the game will have more than 50 missions and will feature enough volume and storyline to match an RPG.

Rune Chaser is currently being developed solely for the PlayStation 2. There's no release period or date set for the title as of yet.
