Mythic Entertainment has announced that TA Associates has invested $32 million in the online game developer. To be sure, this deal is not an acquisition, but Mythic couldn't reveal how large a stake in the company the investment represents. TA Associates will hold a position on Mythic's board of directors as a result of the investment.

"We chose to partner with TA because of their extensive experience in helping profitable companies accelerate growth," said Mark B. Jacobs, CEO of Mythic. "We look forward to working closely with them as we both expand our player base for Camelot nationally and internationally and expand our lineup of games."

Mythic's online RPG Dark Age of Camelot currently has more than 220,000 subscribers worldwide. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the Dark Age of Camelot and its recent expansion pack, Shrouded Isles.
