My Nintendo Adds New Game Discounts And Rewards
A new batch of rewards are now available.
Nintendo has refreshed the My Nintendo program with a handful of new rewards to spend your Gold and Platinum points on. As usual, August's selection of rewards primarily take the form of discounts for certain 3DS and Wii U games, and they cover some great recent and classic titles for both platforms.
On the 3DS side, My Nintendo members can get 30% off of Metroid: Samus Returns (90 Gold coins). A reimagining of the series' sole Game Boy installment, Metroid II, Samus Returns takes the bounty hunter to the Metroid homeworld of SR388 on a mission to eradicate the monsters. It's also notable for being the first new side-scrolling Metroid game in more than a decade, since Metroid: Zero Mission released for Game Boy Advance back in 2004.
3DS owners with a preference for RPGs can get 30% off of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy and Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest for 90 Gold points each. Members can also get a 30% discount on the crossover adventure Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and the sword-fighting Eshop-exclusive Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword; the former discount costs 70 Gold points, while the latter can be had for 160 Platinum points.
On Wii U, My Nintendo members can now get 30% off of Star Fox Zero (110 Gold points) and the Fire Emblem/Shin Megami Tensei crossover, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (130 Gold points). There are also discounts on a pair of Virtual Console games: 40% off of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (300 Platinum points) and 50% off of Metroid Prime: Hunters (380 Platinum points).
In addition to those rewards, members can still find discounts on a number of recent and classic Mario games, including 30% off of Super Mario Maker for Wii U (130 Gold points), 40% off of Mario Kart 7 (90 Gold points), and 40% off of Super Mario World (240 Platinum points). A new selection of free full game downloads is also still available. You can see the full list of rewards on the My Nintendo website.
