According to a recently posted ad on the Los Angeles Craigslist (picked up on by Variety), MTV is looking to create an official show for Rock Band 2, with executive producer Mark Burnett at the helm. Burnett has made a career producing TV shows such as Rock Star: INXS and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, as well as creating and directing Survivor.

According to the job posting, MTV wants four people to "show us their stuff live on stage for the chance to win the Ultimate Rock Band Experience." It emphasizes that no experience is necessary, and suggests that producers are looking for groups with a hook to set them apart, listing firefighter, sorority, and military themes as examples. Applicants are required to be over 18 and live in Southern California.

As of press time, Rock Band and MTV representatives had not returned requests for confirmation of the posting's authenticity.
