MP3Station Nearing Completion

We take a look at the PlayStation MP3 add-on device, called the MP3Station, which is nearing completion.

The MP3Station, an add-on device that attaches to the PlayStation and lets it playback MP3 files, is almost ready for public consumption. The company responsible for the unit, Ultimate Videogame Accessories, will begin taking orders via its web site next week, and the unit will ship in early September.

The unit will support Windows 95 long filenames, the CD-ROM XA format, and it will also double as a Game Shark-esque device. The device will plug into the parallel I/O port and will also have a port that plugs into the AV multi-out jack.

The company is working on getting the MP3Station into retail stores, but nothing has been finalized as of press time.
