As was the case for most new consoles' early days, games for the PlayStation 3 haven't exactly been pumped out since the console's launch. However, as January comes to an end, a second wave of games is getting closer to hitting shelves.

One of the more anticipated early postlaunch games for the PS3 is Evolution Studios' MotorStorm, a no-holds-barred off-road racing game in which motorcycles, ATVs, and trucks all get a chance to lock horns.

Unfortunately for racing fans ready to get dirty, MotorStorm won't make its release date of February 27, as previously posted on the MotorStorm page on Sony's official PlayStation 3 site. The site has updated the release date to spring 2007.

However, it won't be that much longer until racing fans can begin slinging mud. A Sony rep told GameSpot that the delay shouldn't be significant and that MotorStorm should be available in early March. Like most bumps in release dates, the decision to postpone the launch was made to ensure the game's quality and that online play is smooth.

MotorStorm is rated T for Teen and will retail for $59.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
