Mortal Kombat X won't be coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that the last-generation versions of the fighting game are canceled.

"After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360," it said in a statement. "Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned."

People who preordered Mortal Kombat X for Xbox 360 or PS3 can get a refund.

Mortal Kombat X for Xbox 360 and PS3 was originally scheduled to launch alongside the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC editions back in April. However, Warner Bros. later delayed the last-generation versions to sometime this summer and then again to fall. High Voltage Software, which also developed the PC edition of Mortal Kombat X, was working on the last-generation console versions.
