Happy Halloween.

Jason Voorhees, the masked murderer from the Friday the 13th film series, is now available as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X's mobile version, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced.

This is the first time he's been made available in the mobile version (he's already in the console edition of Mortal Kombat X), and his release comes fittingly just in time for Halloween.

Mortal Kombat X mobile players can play with Jason through the Jason Challenge and the Jason Multiplayer Season. Check out the video above to watch Jason slice up foes with his machete.

Released alongside the console and PC editions earlier this year, Mortal Kombat X for mobile devices is a free-to-play game for iOS and Android devices that meshes fighting and card-battling. It was developed by NetherRealm Studios, the same team behind the new-gen console versions.

In other Jason Voorhees gaming news, a new and officially licensed Friday the 13th game has been announced, promising blood, guts, gore, and brutal kills.
