Four new Kameo characters were also confirmed in the new trailer, with robotic ninjas Cyrax and Sektor the most heavily featured. Female ninja Frost, as well as a classic version of Scorpion, also briefly appeared.

After the trailer reveal, the Kombat Kast focused on Scorpion and Johnny Cage, as it dove deep into both characters' movesets. Scorpion uses his spear as well as a new roped hook weapon, while Johnny Cage leans into his movie star persona with the ability to gain buffs through taunts.

Smoke and Rain are the 11th and 12th characters confirmed for the Mortal Kombat 1 roster, joining Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and Kenshi.

Mortal Kombat 1 will launch September 19 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
