Xboxes and PlayStation 2s are about to get infested all over again. Sega today announced it will publish two more titles in the Worms franchise, Worms 3D for the Xbox and Worms: Forts Under Siege! for the Xbox and PS2. Developed by UK-based Team 17, the franchise has starred armed annelids and has grown into several incarnations across multiple platforms.

Worms: Forts Under Siege! makes it debut on the PS2 and Xbox March 1. The game was released on the PC in November, and it allows the critters to build fortresses to defend themselves from opponent's attacks, in addition to hospitals, science labs, and factories. There will be plenty of outlandish weapons to employ when blowing up buildings as well, such as superhippos, monkey troops, and air strikes.

Worms 3D creeps onto the Xbox for the first time after successfully slinking onto PCs, PS2s, and GameCubes last March. Worms 3D for the Xbox features all the comical combustibles from the original, including holy hand grenades and flying sheep, and it adds Xbox Live support. The turn-based game challenges gamers to correctly find the correct trajectory and power of their attacks to damage opponents effectively.

Both titles will be available March 1 for the budget price of $19.99. We'll have more on the games soon. In the meantime, check out our full review of Worms 3D for the PS2, as well as previous coverage of Worms: Forts Under Siege! for the PC.
