More Titanfall Games Could Come After Titanfall 2

"There's a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life."

Titanfall 2 may not be the last game in Respawn's shooter series. Founder and CEO Vince Zampella told IGN that, while the studio may not have specific plans for a trilogy, the hope is that Respawn can work on more games in the series after Titanfall 2 and the mobile games.

"We don't have necessarily a trilogy in mind. You always hope when you create something that it's embraced and that people will love it for generations to come," he said. "I hope we do more of it. We probably plan to do more--as you know, we have the mobile games as well. I would like to see the universe live on. I think it's very expandable. I think there's a lot we can do with it. There's a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life."

The first Titanfall mobile game, Frontline, is a free-to-play card game for iOS and Android. It comes out this year, as part of Respawn's partnership with mobile gaming giant Nexon.

Also in the interview, Zampella was asked if the 2014 original Titanfall might ever come to PlayStation 4. Don't count on it. "I believe we are limited in our ability to do that," he said, potentially referencing the exclusivity deal the game's publisher has in place with Microsoft.

On the subject of the relationship between Respawn and Microsoft, Zampella said Microsoft was a great partner and that Titanfall would not have existed without them. At the same time, Zampella said he thought Respawn, at some point, would be able to put Titanfall on PS4--but that couldn't happen.

Titanfall 1 was released only on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. The sequel, which comes out on October 28, will be available for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.

Why would you want Titanfall 1 on PS4 anyways with Titanfall 2 being almost released

The multiplayer experience should be even better than the first one

@xiomata: Also the fact that Titanfall 1 doesn't even have single player campaign!

It's not like PS4 owners need the first game to complete the story because Titanfall 1 doesn't even have one.

They also assured everyone that Titanfall would NEVER be part of EA Access and yet, there it is and was given away for free there on top of that.

@howthegodzkill: no, they said it wouldn't be Games with Gold.

They said no trial period and no discount w EA access, but it likely will end up there eventually

@bickle2: no the did say it would t be part of access. Then bamb it snuck in

@stewart24: There are no direct quotes to source this. Only the note about "features" which means the discount.

@bickle2: Remember kids... the internet can be used for more than trolling people with mis information and jerking off. For example:

This site referenced from 2015 states that they noticed Titanfall accidentally showed on EA Access where the website site clearly noted that it was not going to be apart of the service:

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2015/06/14/titanfall-seems-to-have-entered-the-ea-access-vault/

And again from another article from 2014 stating, again, that Titanfall would not be apart of EA Access:

@howthegodzkill: it said features, which means the 10% discount. They never said the game wouldn't be in the vault, but thank you for playing.

@bickle2: But they did say that, thank you for playing with yourself.

@howthegodzkill: find me a direct quote from EA or respawn. They said it about the sequel, never the first.especially since Access didn't exist until the game was well over a year old

@bickle2: access came out during e3 (beta that is a few weeks later it was out to the public). TF came out in march. Thus there was only a 4 month difference.

@howthegodzkill: I don't remember them saying it would never be a part of EA Access

@buginthesystem: A true gamer never remembers. They said it at a press conference when it launched. But as usual, gamers can't fucking remember to even put their pants on when they leave the house, if they ever do.

Please do some fact checking, you may start with the links I provided above.

@howthegodzkill: in none of your links did they state the game will never going to be in the vault.

Anyway, from your link:

"For one thing all Titanfall related content won’t be a part of this service. That’s pretty sad in my eyes. But I don’t think this is EA’s fault. Remember the guys who started Respawn Entertainment got destroyed by their last publishing partner, so when they got EA to publish Titanfall, I’m sure in the negotiations Respawn wanted EA to have almost no control over money aspects of the game"

Sounds like EA had no control of the game in the sense that they could just do what they wanted with it without Respawn say go. So from that I take it that EA said titanfall won't make it to the vault as they didn't have such a deal with Respawn yet. But it seems they've worked out something doesn't it.

So it's not that they lied, they just didn't have that sort of deal in place for that game yet.

The deal: EA got to titanfall in the vault,

Respawn got to do the star wars game they wanted to do.

@7tizz: you would if it was still an xvbox exclusive

Avatar image for deactivated-584608341d412

@SirNormanislost: That's like saying Tales of series is an exclusive to the PS. It isn't now since it has made its foray to the PC.
