The newest Simpsons short film is streaming now on Disney+, and it riffs on Star Wars as part of Disney's celebration of Star Wars Day. Additional short films are coming that will pay tribute to other popular Disney brands, and one of them could be focused on Marvel.

The Simpsons producer Al Jean also told Variety that one of the future shorts won't focus on Maggie, who was at the center of The Force Awakens from Its Nap, Playdate With Destiny, and The Longest Daycare.

"I won't say what it is but it's also very exciting in different ways," Jean said of the next Simpsons short for Disney+. "The only goal is to sort of walk across the Disney+ tiles from Star Wars to Nat Geo and plant our seed everywhere."

One of the future shorts could be focused on Marvel, Jean said. The veteran producer mentioned how The Simpsons has parodied Marvel many times before, while Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige himself voiced a Thanos-like character in The Simpsons' spoof of The Avengers.

"Could be," Jean said of a future Simpsons short focusing on Marvel. "I'm a huge Marvel fan. We've dealt with them in a couple of ways. We've parodied them a lot. We even had a couple of them, including Kevin Feige, on the show. So our relationship with them has only been fantastic. Just as I've been inspired by Star Wars for 40 years, I grew up reading Marvel Comics, and have a bunch still. If somebody told me I'd grow up to write for Star Wars and Marvel I'd be pretty happy."

Star Wars Day is today, May 4, and it's brought with it a number of special deals and promotions on media, merch, and more for the sci-fi series. For more, check out GameSpot's roundup of the best Star Wars Day deals.
