Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World has now surpassed 20 million units shipped worldwide. This figure also covers shipments of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition.

The game originally released in January 2018 and has gone on to become Capcom's best-selling game of all time--by far. In fact, Monster Hunter World needed only one month of sales to become Capcom's best-selling game in its history.

Capcom's second best-selling game is Resident Evil 7, which just passed 10 million shipments. This shows just how big a gulf there is between Monster Hunter World and everything else.

Another game, Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch, has sold 7.5 million copies as of September 24 to become yet another massive success story for the series. A PC edition is coming in January 2022. Capcom plans to expand Rise further with its Sunbreak expansion in 2022.
