While Capcom's PlayStation 2 online action role-playing game Monster Hunter 2 hasn't even come out in Japan yet, its developers are already thinking about the next installment. Capcom held a ceremony in Tokyo yesterday to celebrate the completion of Monster Hunter 2. At the event, series producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka told the assembled press that his next Monster Hunter title may come out on a next-generation console, although he hasn't decided on a platform. Tanaka also said he would like to make another Monster Hunter game for the PSP before moving the series to next-gen platforms. The first PSP game in the series, Monster Hunter Portable (to be released as Monster Hunter Freedom in the US), has been one of the company's major hits on the system, shipping more than 400,000 units in Japan since its debut on December 10.
