i want this IP to crash and burn.... I'm sick of mediocre games succeeding like this and tainting FPS creativity/innovation. How much f*cking money do you really need Activation? Really....

whats ironic i remember last year they said "Black Ops was the best selling in the CoD series" and now its MW3.so next year were going to see the same thing over again saying this is best seller of the franchise.so its pretty muck like WTF i thought it was this game now this. so the there going to say the same for next year.

MW3 is a casual gamer's game and it has mass appeal so of course it's going to sell millions upon million.

AND TO CELEBRATE THEY ARE ACTUALLY THANKING THEIR FANS FOR BUYING THE GAME BY GIVING AWAY A FREE DLC...... no just kidding you still have to pay 15$ for a few maps and a crappy elite service so they can suck you dry even more :)

It's like Activision is slapping everyone in the face who knows how stagnant and unchanged the entire franchise has been. "Look at us everyone! We hardly do any work at all and look how much we sell." If they've convinced themselves that they're getting that money because they put out a good product then they're fools. The fact that so many people keep buying the same game every other year just proves that a lot of people just don't want to realize the truth - they bought the same game two years ago.

The same can be said of the music business, next to no bands on the top 100 actually have any technical talent or writing talent and simply know how to write a catchy song (which you can do with a year of music theory). In essence, it's doing nothing other than pandering to our natural gut and adrenaline reactions rather than trying to create an actual narrative, or piece of groundbreaking art (much in the same style of MW3). Now does this make it bad? Well, in a way yes, but not necessarily. It just makes it stagnant and once everyone has outgrown their FPS phase the series will die. But in the meantime let the cash keep flowing.

call of duty is ok, its not terrible like some people make it out to be... but at the same time its not incredible... i personaly dont hate it the way everyone does.... but i do wish that other more worthy games would get the same amount or even half of what it sales....

MW3 deserves this. Keep up Infinity Ward. For all those disparaging MW3 and blaming it over rated: If you say MW3 is so dumb, how come it is breaking records. Either those millions of people praising it are sick or you guys have a serious problem. MW3 is simply thrilling, action-packed, a bit emotional and fun game.

Whether u like the game or not, wut they did is still impressive. Now is it a good product? It's aight. Its not better than COD4. Period the end. But its way better than Black Ops. This will b the last COD game I buy. Unless they do something with a western style setting or a future setting, I wont b buying the next COD game. But still the numbers r impressive none the less.

What a joke. I've only heard negative things about MW3 from friends. I don't know a single person who doesn't regret buying MW3. I'm glad I didn't. MW2 was one of the dumbest video game purchases I've made, right up there with Spore and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

And stop this bickering Online comments are full of idiots fighting over: Xbox VS PS3, Apple VS Android, COD VS BF,etc. Games are for entertaining you and not something you to quarrel about.

BF3 is a big down. why? because their game only support 2 OS. 7 and vista. xp is the most used OS on the globe. that's why i loved MW3.

IW/Sledgehammer earned it. The game improved on nearly every aspect of MW 2, and the breathtaking ending to the trilogy's storyline was the icing on the cake. As much I hate Activision, just as much as EA, I gotta say that MW 3 is an outstanding, complete package. Haters can once more suck on this.

@moviequest14 That point is invalid since you're saying even though Avatar was cheaper for the people it still didn't outshine MW3, and MW3 although ridiculously high-priced for its quality (as you were stating) it still managed to have enough people to outshine Avatar. It's sort of a moot point. They're both fun in their own ways and MW3, although not a big fan myself, is a fun game. We all know there are better games out there... but it's like deciding between movies like Bourne Identity and King's Speech.... We all know "King's Speech" is the more "quality" movie, but Bourne is so much more fun to just kick back and enjoy for more people. Again they're both good in their own ways : ).

Nobody ever said that COD was high quality.. it sells more than any other shooter cause its really fun and easy to play, plus wih features like co-op , zombies, spec ops, survival... COD never clarifies to be 'High Quality'. ask any gamer.. just play your own personnel games without mocking the others..

75% = 12-17 year old racist, trash talking kids. 20% = 18+ year old trash talking, racist adults. 5% = Real Hardcore gamers of all ages. This is just my opinion. I play BF3 and MW3. I bought them both for $44 each at my job w/ my employee discount and a $10 off coupon. Also, I'd like to mention that at my job, they never asked to see I.D. when selling MW3. It's the almighty dollar and I even saw parents buying it for their kids. It's a riot.

So funny how much Activision is ''forgetting'' to mention here...I know of a theater where,several times a week, you can get movie tickets for about $5..so that means Avatar would have had to sell what...(considering a majority of sales was to the deluxe edition)...35 tickets for each CoD game? Even if you take in account more expensive tickets compared with the cheaper CoD set..it is still a staggering advantage to CoD..games should be held in an entirely different category and not even compared to movies.Avatar still holds the title to me..because they did it with $5-$10 tickets...not $60-$180 glorified multiplayer.''Activision said its shooter franchise is "now amongst that rarified group of sustained franchises like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and the National Football League that attract or engage tens of millions of people every year or every new release."
