Modern Warfare 2 map pack due spring 2010

This is str8 horse-****, they need to add some of those maps to the freaking game, or make them either cheap, or free but we all know that isnt going to happen, damn greed ruins all

Wow i can't believe the hate. They announced at E3 they were doing DLC with the 360 getting it first. Most shooters have DLC now, hell most games get lambasted if they don't have DLC. 1943 anyone? Activision is an evil cooperation run by an evil man but the complaints about this are ridiculous. This is like complaining that Fallout 3 had DLC which they announced at e3 that they were doing it.

As long as we have some entertaining maps in the game already, I can hold off from buying new maps for a while.

isnt the 360 supposed to get it first? Or am i missing something? Don't really matter thou, i've never paid for any map packs except for socom on ps2.

@Ljiggaman Yes other games have done it but, they also have not announced anything before the intial release of the game. So yes it does make us wonder if there already done and just holding out. !st Map pack is going to be out a few months after release should tell you this. It take time just to develop map and test them so yeah I thinhk there done or almost done. Hence why we said to put it in the realease of the game. Hey I guess we all need those Infra Red Googles *Sigh*.

they're already talking about a map pack for a game that's not released yet? how does this make any sense??? i don't care who they are, i officially hate when companies do this. then they just rip off people who foolishly bought the content with a GOTY edition a year or so later. maps should be free like they've always been in the past. this will make us want to buy their game a whole lot more.

They probably have the maps ready when the actual game comes out in november.

Sadly Tajirinere, they'll force you to buy the packs like they have with World At War. Can't play twop games in a row without having to cancel out.

Its a business you don't wanna play then don't buy it. Simple. Just looking forward to playing it... and oh yeah it cost money sorry folks... still cheaper and more enjoyable than most entertainment out there.

map packs + NXE themes + Avatar appreals = dumb reasons to throw away precious points. all hail the slow folk that like wasting money

eh, BF:BC screwed us over by not including a staple of the series in conquest. They practically had to give it to us for free.

I dont agree with DLC, and have never and will never pay for it. (Save for some Oasis Rock Band DLC which i had to get, but other than that)

Yeah, first map packs, then GOTY edition.. Looks like a popular way to rip off users these days.. Why don't they learn from BF: Bad Company, for which there were released pretty extensive add-ons for free?

Remember all of you who don't like this. You speak with your money. Don't buy it, don't give in if you don't agree. If you give in on an impulse or for whatever reason it is seen as a success for the company regardless of whether or not you like it. \ \ On that note as much as I absolutely HATE Activision, I love Infinity Ward so much more. I will be getting everything to do with this game and I will also be kicking your @$$es online. Knife....Knife....Headshot....I think I knifed 13 people in a row once in COD4.

why are we talking about DLC, the game isnt out yet

My only complaint is that it is Monster energy drink.They are horrible, why not just switch to Amp? I honestly don't care about paying for new maps in Spring, by then we will need something to freshen us up so great kool, $10... I can wipe my gloot with that. not that big of a deal. Something worse than this was when RE5 had the multiplayer added like 2 weeks after the game for $5. That was a rip off

As much as I HATE DLC, at least they seem to be releasing it a good deal after the game's launch so it doesn't seem like a total ripoff.

Unbelievable! A lot of companies have been doing this with their games. I think i'm agreeing with almost everyone when I say this is an obvious attempt to make us pay 80 or 90 dollars for the full game.

I would say "welcome to the new era" but this has been going on since the 360 was first released. As long as the game comes with 12+ maps when launched, I don't see any reason why map packs can't be released later on. You don't have to buy them (though in games like Quantum of Solace if you don't have the new maps you get booted alot). If the game is great and you need something to freshen it up, you're probably going to get more out of another $5-$10 for maps than most of the $60 games that come out in the summer.

DLC is for when there's no time to put stuff into the actual game. When the maps are already made, its ethically right to put it into the original game!!!!

Ten years ago, we didn't have online play. For games like COD, you'd beat the campaign and that was that. You'd pay 60 bucks for a game that lasted 6-12 hours. Now that we have online, a game like COD can give you hundreds of hours of gameplay. To pay 10 bucks for a mappack to give you more hours of gameplay is nothing. I will gladly pay 10 bucks for more online play.

Lol more money for Robert Kotick ha. He is doing everything possible to make a huge profit even selling map packs that should have come with the game and announced before game even released is wow.

Wow thats cool over the advertising they are doing but honestly I am already sold. No need to convince me any further, not only am I buying the prestige edition, I am sure I will buy the map packs too. In return I expect a FPS that I plan to invest 100's of hours into playing. Can't wait until Nov 10th and I am already grateful that there is confirmed map packs coming. As I am still slightly burnt that CoD 4 only received 1 where as WaW has had 3 already. I am however telling myself it was because IW was already working on the epic MW 2. Obviously I have alot of expectations, don't destroy that trust ;) I can't wait.

PROOF that developers no longer release games packed with everything they could think of. They probably actually put their good ideas on hold so they can sell it to us for more afterward. I don't want to end up spending $100 on this game and its addons. A $50-60 price tag is enough for me thank you. That's already almost 6 hours work.

i only got the map packs for waw for the nazi zombie and since modern warfare2 has no nazi zombie thats a no for me. and seriously your so corrupt you announce youll make people pay for maps you can put into the actual game like nothing then charge $10 for 3 decent maps people will hardly play.

i know ill buy it and it will be worth every penny.. HAIL MODERN WARFARE!!(the new counter-strike!!)

Damn bastards probably intentionally cut a finished product into pieces. Watch the map pack sold separately for $5.99. What happened to UT kind of games that came out full and finished?

i hate downloadable map packs... unless theyre free or thrown-ins with expansions....

the dlc maps are probably just concepts right now or in the very early stages of development. as far as i know theyre still just polishing the game and making sure everything runs smooth. plus IW probably wants to see what us gamers like about certain maps and dislike of other ones before they really make any maps. thats my opinion.

Think about it...$10 from 1,000,000 people is 10 million dollars. Infinity Ward is just thinking about the extra money they could make. They aren't thinking about satisfying the customer's wants.

How is this "sneaky"? This is a giant middle finger to the face of the consumers. Will not be buying it. Unfortunately when I buy the actual game my money will go to these a-holes. It's not like they will make a billion or so off of this game's sales.

@ matthe4968 were not all made of money and the point is, if the maps are done, they should be in the game. the game is gonna rack in millions for activision anyway; not to mention the "prestige" pack or whatever. Do they really need to make more money with map packs right after release? no i dont think so.
