Ubisoft today released Assassin's Creed Pirates, a mobile spin-off of the recent blockbuster Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The game is available today on iOS and Android for $5.

Set in the year 1716 during the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean, Assassin's Creed Pirates puts players into the shoes of Alonzo Batilla, a young and ambitious captain on a quest to find La Buse's famed treasure.

Players must manage their crew, upgrade their ships, and recruit new crew members as they take part in real-time naval battles. Assassin's Creed Pirates also has players crossing paths with assassins and Templars, as well as iconic pirates like Blackbeard, Bellamy, and Hornigold.

Developer Ubisoft Paris created an all-new mobile game engine for Assassin's Creed Pirates that promises "groundbreaking" and "breathtaking" visuals for elements like water and islands. Check out a trailer for the game below.
