This year's roster includes a ton of highly ranked players, including four players currently sitting at a 99 Overall rating, the highest possible rating. The following list is ranked by Overall Rating, putting together the 10 highest ranked players. Here are the best players in MLB The Show 23.

10. Bryce Harper - 95 - Philadelphia Phillies

Taking the number 10 spot on the list is Bryce Harper, an outfielder/DH for the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite missing sometime last season due to injury, Harper is still one of the best hitters in the league and a former MVP winner. The main stat lines contributing to his Overall ranking of 95 is a 94 in Contact R and a 98 in Power R, along with an 80 Arm.

Former three-time Cy Young winner, Scherzer pitched 23 games in the 2022 Season, finishing with a 11-5 record and an ERA of 2.29. In MLB The Show 23, he has a 99 in Break, 92 in Stamina, and an 89 in H/9, contributing to his Overall of 96, despite being on the older end of pitchers at 38.

8. Paul Goldschmidt - 96 - St. Louis Cardinals

Reigning National League MVP and All-Star First Baseman Paul Goldschmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals comes in at 8th with a 96 Overall rating. Goldschmidt won the MVP award after finishing the season with a .317 AVG, 35 HRs, and 115 RBIs, leading the St. Louis Cardinals to a division pennett and a strong playoff run. Mookie Betts, the Right Fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, comes in at number 6 with a 97 Overall rating. Known for his excellent fielding skills in the outfield, Betts is also a great hitter, hitting .269 with 35 HRs and 82 RBIs in 2022. All of this contributed to the Los Angeles Dodgers having the best regular season record in 2022. Two-time Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom missed part of the 2022 season due to injury, but made a large impact for the New York Mets during his time, before signing with the Texas Rangers for the 2023 season. In 2022 deGrom pitched 11 games, finishing with a 5-4 record and a 3.08 ERA, while posting 102 strikeouts in 64.1 innings. Mike Trout, an outfield for the Los Angeles Angels, comes in at a 99 Overall rating. The former three-time MVP is known for being a massive power house of hitter, posting a .283 AVG with 40 HRs and 80 RBIs. While the Angels haven't done much of note during Trout's time there, Trout is still considered one of the best players in the league. Shohei Ohtani, the two-player and former MVP, is an Angel and has a 99 Overall rating, just like his teammate Trout. Ohtani is both the DH and a starting pitcher for the Angels. Ohtani hit .273 with 34 HRs and 95 RBIs, in addition to starting 28 games with a 15-9 record with a 2.33 ERA. Ohtani in game has a 99 in Break, 90 in Velocity, 94 in Power R, and 85 in Power L.

The top spot in MLB The Show 23 goes to Center Fielder Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. The reigning AL MVP Judge put up historic numbers in 2022, hitting .311 with 62 HRs and 131 RBIs. By hitting 62 HRs, Judge now holds the American League single-season home run record. In MLB The Show 23, Judge has a 99 in both Power R and Power L, in addition to having 90 in Contact R, 88 in Arm, and 81 in Contact L.
