MLB The Show 16 Announced for PS4, Release Date and Cover Star Revealed

[UPDATE] Sony has provided more details on MLB The Show 16 in a PlayStation Blog post. First, the game has a new ShowTime feature that allows you to slow down time for certain "critical moments." Check out the video below to see this new feature in action.

Developer Sony San Diego also features a "more personalized and rewarding" Road to Show mode and a "revamped" training system. Read this post to learn more.

Today during Sony's PlayStation Experience keynote address, the company officially announced MLB The Show 16, the latest entry in the long-running professional baseball series.

The PlayStation 4 game features Toronto Blue Jays third basemen Josh Donaldson on its cover. It will be available in two versions: a $60 standard edition and a $70 MVP edition.

A gameplay video was displayed during PlayStation Experience today showing off some impressive visuals and new gameplay mechanics. Check out that video above, but note that it's pre-beta footage.

MLB The Show 16 is also coming to PlayStation 3.
