Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced the release of MLB 2002 for the PlayStation 2. The game will feature eight modes of play, including the option to play multiple seasons in the franchise mode. MLB 2002 will feature all-new camera angles and commentary by Vin Scully and color analyst Dave Campbell.

"MLB 2002 provides the most realistic baseball game available for the PlayStation,'' said Ami Blaire, director of product marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America. "The 989 Sports team has combined the classic elements of its previous release with new features that really give the player a first-hand experience of what it is like to take a team all the way to the World Series."

Atlanta Braves outfielder Andruw Jones will serve as the game's official cover athlete.
