Minecraft for PlayStation 3 debuts at the top of the charts
Latest version of Mojang's open-ended sandbox game proving series still has legs.
The PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft was the system's best-selling downloadable game during its December launch month, outpacing juggernauts like Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty: Ghosts, Sony announced today on the PlayStation Blog.
Specific unit sales information for the PS3 version of Minecraft is not available, but hitting the top of the chart is never a bad thing. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft are also in development, but release dates for these iterations have not been announced yet.
Minecraft for PC has sold more than 13 million copies, while the Xbox 360 version recently surpassed 10 million in sales. Meanwhile, the Pocket Edition has also sold more than 10 million copies to date. The game is also coming to Xbox One.
