The dungeon crawler Minecraft Dungeons will get a free update on November 17 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One that enables crossplay between these platforms. The official Minecraft Dungeons Twitter account delivered the news, announcing that it's "almost time to join forces--whatever platforms you play on." Players on any platform, with the exception of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S / Series X, will be able to play together.

According to Minecraft Dungeons' multiplayer support page, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation accounts must be linked to a Microsoft account in order to activate crossplay.

Minecraft Dungeons is available on the next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles. However, there's no confirmation that crossplay will work with PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S / Series X.

The game will also get the ability to back up and sync cloud saves between multiple platforms. There's no confirmation on when cloud saves will come to the game, though developers Mojang Studios and Double Eleven said the feature is expected to arrive in a future update.
