Midway throwing down the Gauntlet again
The classic hack-and-slash series is getting another installment, with game icon John Romero heading development.
One surprise at today's 2004 Midways Gamers' Day was the announcement of another Gauntlet game. The game would be the first since 2002's Gauntlet Dark Legacy, which was roundly panned by critics and shunned by audiences.
However, don't look for the new Gauntlet to be anything like Dark Legacy. One of the few details Midway revealed about the game was the fact that game icon John Romero is currently supervising its development. Last October, Midway CEO David Zucker hired Romero and Tom Hall to help run Midway's new San Diego studio, where work on the new Gauntlet game is already under way.
GameSpot will have more information on the new Gauntlet game as it becomes available.
