Midway today officially announced Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the last game in the series for current-generation consoles, confirming earlier reports that the game was on its way. The fighting franchise will make its final bow on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox this fall. Celebrating its years of gory combat, the game will include a roster of "every fighter in the Mortal Kombat universe," as well as a Create a Fighter mode and a Create a Fatality mode. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon has not yet been priced or rated (though it will likely land an M for Mature rating). Check back later this week for details on the game, as GameSpot brings coverage of Midway's 2006 lineup.
