Midway has announced that it's currently working on Slugfest 2004, the second game in its arcade-style baseball series. Slugfest will include a number of improvements on its predecessor, including new features such as a create-a-team mode, customizable replays, and a home run derby. The game will also feature more than 1,500 player animations, as well as player-specific batting stances and accurate models of Major League ballparks. In addition, rosters have now been expanded to 20 players, including six pitchers.

An official release date has yet to be announced.
