Microsoft Is Expecting Huge Xbox One Sales This Holiday--Here's Why

But it's going to be EXTREMELY limited. I waited for YEARS to have some of my OG Xbox games show up for backwards compatibility on the 360...and a good deal of them NEVER came! (including Tron 2.0, one of my favorite games that I never got to finish before my OG Xbox gave up the ghost!)

Other sites have called it...Xbox is looking to the past, while their competition is looking to the future. If this feature was announced AT LAUNCH, it would have made a difference. Now? Not so much.

Now MS WILL sell a LOT of consoles this holiday, in the US. Globally? It's a lost cause. Not only do the "core" Xbox games not appeal to most outside the US...but the biggest games are starting to move to Windows, like Gears of War. Every day there is less and less reason to own an Xbox One, due to Microsoft's "new" focus on PC gaming.

Not only that, but the biggest titles aren't even exclusive, and Sony has the exclusive marketing rights, console bundles and exclusive content for these games (either full "only on PS4" content or timed exclusivity on the DLC). Call of Duty, Star Wars Battlefront, Batman...THESE are going to be the "system sellers" this fall. Microsoft's moneyhat, Tomb Raider, is also launching ON THE SAME DAY as Fallout 4! Yeah, that's not going to do them ANY favors on that one!

We will see how this holiday shapes up, but I don't think it's going to be even as good for them as last Holiday...Sony just has too much going for them right now.

Sony fans: why wouldn't you want X1 to have a great holiday? X1 doing well is the only thing that will keep Sony from dropping the ball. Good games or features on X1 affect your console negatively how?

MS fans: we get it, you don't like bird dogs, indies, and JRPGs. But maybe, just MAYBE, you aren't the only ones with valid personal preferences? Maybe, just MAYBE, the "Ponies" own PS4s because they like different games than you do and that's ok?

I hope everyone has a good holiday season so that games keep getting made and we can all enjoy our hobby. Dayum.

And if MS does have a good holiday season it will be because they drop the price for that period, the fact is MS revenue went down by almost 25% during the last price cut, they lost hundreds of millions of dollars and only came out on top for 2 months and not even in all regions.

Meanwhile Sony is not only selling more consoles, but making a profit off each one, last gen both took a while to break even, this gen they both decided they would make cheaper machines and still MS is losing money, if the system doesn't pick up steam soon it's going to be another Wii-U, a system with barely any third party support

Microsoft wont be getting the amount surge of sales they re expecting

Heres why = they keep porting xbox games to pc

Last week they announced killer instinct are coming to pc and rumours are mcc will follow

When you look at it almost every xbox exclusive in the begining are now become available on pc

Seems like microsoft long term plan is to release their game first on xbox..and then sometimes latter they gona bring it to pc via windows 10

That start to make people realize they dont need to buy xbox to play xbox games, just go out and upgrade your pc and you got everything covered with pc, playstation 4 and the wii u

Why fight? Want backwards almost unlimited compatibility? Why not just join the Glorious PC Master Race? Too much brand loyalty? Also, you get to keep your consoles if you want...
