Microsoft is taking action against players who are using racial slurs and betraying others in the ongoing Halo 3 beta test on PC. Writing on Twitter, community director Brian Jarrard confirmed these offending players are being banned, and they will be forbidden from joining future tests.

Not only that, but when Halo 3 is finally, officially released on PC through The Master Chief Collection, these players will "face consequences."

Jarrard's comments came after Halo studio 343 Industries said it was increasing its efforts to ban players for racist and hateful behavior in all Halo titles.

"Racism and bigotry have no place in the world or Halo," Jarrard said at the time. "We have a zero tolerance policy and are committed to taking more action to remove this behavior from our games and community. The Banhammer is fired up. Consider this your only warning."

Halo 3 will be the fourth Halo game released on PC through The Master Chief Collection, following Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Halo 2. After that, Halo 4 will be added to complete the bundle. Halo 3: ODST and its Firefight mode is coming, too.

The next mainline Halo game is Halo Infinite, and it is scheduled to arrive as a launch title for Xbox Series X later this year. Microsoft will showcase the game during an event in July.
