It was recently reported that Microsoft delayed an Xbox reveal event scheduled for June and pushed it out to August. However, this is not entirely accurate.

Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg confirmed on Twitter that, "We have not pushed anything back." Microsoft's plan remains to hold its next Xbox 20/20 digital show in July. This event will focus on Microsoft's first-party games for Xbox Series X, including Halo Infinite. "Teams are working hard on that," Greenberg said of the July event.

It was reported that Microsoft would use its June event to showcase the long-rumored cheaper next-gen Xbox. However, Microsoft never formally announced a June event and it never told fans what to expect in terms of news in June.

When Microsoft announced its Xbox 20/20 series, the company said it would have news to share about its plans for Xbox every month through the year, but this wouldn't always take the form of a digital show. It remains to be seen if Microsoft will have any major Xbox news to share in June.

This is not what was supposed to happen. June was supposed to be a very big month for Xbox, as Microsoft originally planned to come to E3 with Halo Infinite and lots of news. However, E3 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and plans shifted. Halo PR person Brad Hilderbrand reflected on the delay in a recent tweet.

The first Xbox 20/20 event was held in May, and it focused on third-party Xbox Series X games, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Microsoft was criticized for over-hyping and under-delivering with the event, and the company acknowledged that concern.
