Microsoft has announced that free copies of A World of Keflings and Iron Brigade will be distributed in November as part of its ongoing Games with Gold promotion.

A World of Keflings, Ninjabee's kingdom-crafting adventure, will be available to download for free to Xbox Live Gold members from November 1 through November 15. A World of Keflings will replace Halo 3, which is October's second game.

Double Fine's third-person tower defence title Iron Bridge (formerly Trenched) will take over from November 16 through November 30.

As part of the Games with Gold promotion, Microsoft will give away one free game every two weeks to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The scheme was originally scheduled to last to the end of 2013, but Microsoft has now continued it indefinitely.

Well, apparently, he's discussing his viewpoint that Sony truly loves their consumers and that Microsoft should stop giving away this crap. Additionally, you fanboys must be broke if you are asking for these games (apparently, the aforementioned "crap games"). The game Remember Me (is?) 20.00 at gamestop, as is MGR.

You guys are causing financial hardship to Sony and Microsoft. Not sure if "You guys" are though. I'm guessing he is referring to the broke fanboys he mentioned earlier, who are not loved my Microsoft. And not really sure how Sony is related since they love their consumers and aren't "giving away this crap" to broke fanboys.

Sony and Microsoft have to pay publishers to give these games for free. Last, and certainly not least, you should get a job! I'm assuming he is only referring to the broke fanboys who are not loved by Microsoft. Consumers who are loved by Sony can continue with the job they currently have, since they are not broke. Its also not unreasonable to assume that these loved and financially stable Sony fanboys could also change jobs if they would like to advance their career.

Highly unpopular games will come with Gold for free?

Would be nice if they, every once in a while, would offer a game that isn't 3 years old and maybe was released in the last year. I get its free and all, but the question could be asked of MS of why bother? All you are doing is upsetting people by the poor selection that isn't even in the same ballpark as PS+.

They would be better offer offering nothing.

Free stuff is always good, don't see why everyone finds the need to complain. Halo 3 was great, for everyone that was late for the Xbox party, this will be a great free pickup. Looking forward to November's games.

@CrusaderForever @Grenadeh @RicanV @andfx8 @Pre_ordered_PS4 Did he? He did. Xbox Live currently has 300,000 servers used for matchmaking and myriad other functions. They had about 1/100th of that earlier this year, and the online "Paywall" experience at that point was still far more solid than PSN.

XBL does not get hacked, ceding thousands of identities and CC #s to identity thieves, then stay down for over a month while they send their employees to night school to figure out how to begin fixing it. XBL also does not give away crap games as an apology to the people they deprived of money, and the people whose lives they may potentially have dicked with by sacrificing their identities. I was there, I saw the games they offered as an apology, it was pathetic.

On top of that, XBL match-making is rock solid. The only trouble you will ever have in a game is if a game sucks and no one plays it, or you're behind the curve and don't play it while everyone else still is.

XBL Marketplace/Games Store also does not have problems unless you cause them with your bad network. It doesn't download corrupt data on a regular basis to your box, does not make you jump through multiple hoops to purchase content like PSN does, and has sales that are comparable to PS+.

"Free" games that you rent on a permanent basis do not make up for non-existent security, terrible performance that wasn't fixed until mid-2013, horrible match-making, horrible connection quality itself, poor lack of third party integration, and an absolute lack of an actual service.

So yea, in "Free" games, PS+ crushes XBL. In everything else, no, not by a long shot.

It seems nearly every news item on gaming sites is an announcement of bad news. It was good news that Star Wars Angry Birds was announced but then abruptly went south because they are price gouging. It was great news that the PS4 FAQ was released but it described all the features we can't have anymore. It was great news that the Xbox One was announced but then were told it can barely support 720p video. It's great news that Gold members get free games but then we're told what they are and they are titles no one will even want. When will there be some solid pro-consumer things that are great news without an exception or disclaimer about it that makes it not worth it?

Avatar image for Grenadeh

@RedWave247 @speedfreak48t5p Steel Battalion was made by Capcom, and it wasn't on any list for Worst Game of the Year. You may be thinking of the Kinect game, which sucks.

It also came out 11 years ago and it doesn't matter.

It had an asinine failure of a cockpit controller that tried to do what the Virtual World/Tesla Battletech pods did, and failed horribly - that was the only real hooplah about the game.
