Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light coming to Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $25 each
You can also buy a "Metro Redux" pack that includes both games and all DLC for $50; launching this summer.
Following leaks and teases, Deep Silver and 4A Games today officially confirmed that Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The games have been "fully remastered and improved," and will be available individually for $25 each across consoles and PC through digital channels. Deep Silver will also offer a $50 physical package called "Metro Redux," which bundles both games together for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
The new versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light include "never-seen-before" content and new gameplay features, as well as "outstanding graphical fidelity," though it's not mentioned if the games will actually run in 1080p. Both games will run at 60fps.
Deep Silver says gameplay has been improved "radically," and now includes "advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling, and more responsive, intuitive controls." Visuals have also been boosted, now featuring "advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction, and improved smoke, fire, and particle effects."
New melee animations are also included with Metro Redux, as well as the fan-requested Check Watch and Check Inventory features. The game also includes all previously released expansion packs, which Deep Silver says totals around 10 hours of extra gameplay.
In addition, Metro Redux will include the uber-difficult Ranger Mode for both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, as well as two play styles: Survival Play and Spartan Play.
The new versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, as well as the Metro Redux pack, will be available sometime this summer. The publisher adds that dedicated Linux and SteamOS versions are scheduled to launch later this year.
