Metal Gear Solid Delta Demos Just How Much Anguish You'll See On Snake's Face This Time

A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is coming soon.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of 2004's Metal Gear Solid 3, is heading to Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft announced during the Xbox Games Showcase--although, we don't know exactly when.

A new trailer for the game came during the showcase, demonstrating its new and updated visuals. But while this enhanced version of Metal Gear Solid 3 has a new coat of paint and is looking pretty good in motion, it features the original game's voice performances, including that of David Hayter, who played Snake in the first four Metal Gear Solid games. What the trailer doesn't include, however, is a release date for the game.

While we didn't find out when to expect Metal Gear Solid Delta, we did get a little more information about the remake. According to the trailer's description, the remake will include the original play style and control scheme, so you can get that 2004 MGS experience if you want it, but there's also a new, more-modern control style that might make the game a little easier to handle. Otherwise, the story and world are the same, but with new graphics and 3D audio.

The original game blended jungle survival with a tight political plot, heartbreaking betrayals, and an origin story for Big Boss, who operated under the codename of Naked Snake in the game. For the remake reveal, Konami showed off a jungle environment that was populated by dangerous wildlife, military structures, and Naked Snake working a scowl so hard that it had begun absorbing the fabric of his bandana.
