Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience includes The Phantom Pain, Ground Zeroes, and all of their DLC. It's out now for PS4 and Xbox One at a price of $50, releasing for PC at $40 on October 13. You can watch its launch trailer below.

The Definitive edition features all of the already-released content from the two Metal Gear Solid games, including The Phantom Pain's multiplayer DLC. It won't, however, come with the Mission 51 video from The Phantom Pain's collector's edition or a completed version of that mission. Mission 51 featured Snake venturing to an island to track down two characters whose fates are left open at the end of The Phantom Pain. It is not known why the mission went unfinished.

"I'm afraid we have no current plans to further develop for Mission 51," the official Metal Gear Twitter account said. When asked why it didn't finish the ending, it said, "Because it's already finished and released last year."

Ground Zeroes received a score of 8/10 in GameSpot's review for its "challenging and engrossing stealth mechanics," but critic Peter Brown thought its story raised more questions than answered. The Phantom Pain, on the other hand, earned a score of 10/10 in its review, which said, "There has never been a game in the series with such depth to its gameplay, or so much volume in content. The best elements from the past games are here, and the new open-world gameplay adds more to love on top."

Will buy it down the line for $20 pre-owned, I bought the game once already on PC at release. Mostly just want this for the box (looks awesome, should have been the box from the get-go) and to own it on PS4. Don't want to give Konami anymore of my money though.

Despite what some people say this was a great game, repetitive or not the gameplay refinement was quite possibly some of the smoothest I have ever experienced. Really didn't get repetitive to any annoying degree until the second act which is quite short. Story was lacking yes, but it had it's shining moments and the premise at least is really cool in my opinion. Could have been a lot better, mostly in terms of story, don't get me wrong, but it gets too much flack. Great game, must play for stealth-action fans.

@darksynced: While I agree that the stealth gameplay is some of the best out there, but unless one is a massive stealth fan this game offers little else. The story is what it is...but it always has been with MGS, so if you are a fan, you are, but it will unlikely win over many others. The true shame of this game is that the devs had no clue how to do open world and is is abundantly clear. The repetition is intolerable....154 of almost the exact same side-op.....every town looked the exact same, with a few huts to a dozen...Act 2 was an unbelievable joke if that was the part that made you repeat the exact same 16 (?) missions you just completed......not defendable imo.

@Daelusca: Well in all fairness you can just not do all the side ops, I didn't, got fairly close, but at least it is optional. I think if they had simply cut it down to 100 side ops it wouldn't have been as bad. I also pretty much did none of the repeat missions, the Quiet ending, Huey being sent to sea, and the thing with Sahelanthropis being taken away was basically the ending (word ending used loosely), which does not require you to beat hardly any of those missions (2-3). After 2-3 of the repeat missions you do that first mission thing again and get the 'ending' of the game essentially. I see all of that as extra stuff that is there if you want it, but isn't mandatory. As far as the open world, it was a mess yes, but I like a fair amount of the bases, not very unique from each other, but the slope of the land and everything did sometimes change how you went about sneaking into them, which is all you really need in a stealth game.

I missed getting GZ for $5 last year. I refuse to pay $20 for it or $40 for this when I already have PP.

@UnrealPro: I don't think you'll need this version...afaik PP is about 95% of this game. I read somewhere that GZ could be completed in about an hour (if you knew what you were doing obv), but had some replay value. It's basically a tech demo for PP. I can't imagine you will gain much by picking this up. This will be for the people who have either just GZ (like me - thank you GwG!) or no MGSV at all. It's a good idea - and it's actually listed cheaper than just PP strangely.

So the game looks better on PC and its cheaper than consoles how is that possible, are console owners suckers that you can overcharge.

@yukushi: developing for PC is free. Publishers are not charged royalties. On the other hand developing for consoles Sony, Ms, Nintendo they each receive royalties per game sold and upfront development costs for the developer kits and other stuff such as digital distribution. PC games will always be cheaper because its an open platform.

@R4gn4r0k: The DLC adds absolutely nothing to the game. Hardly anyone is playing online anymore anyways.

@Xristophoros: TBF though Kojima had a $80 million dollar budget to make MGSV relatively the same as Witcher 3. I can understand Konami's frustration if Kojima was asking for more money but its disappointing he couldn't finish the final chapter.

@gamingdevil800: And this game made the entire budget back, and then some, within 24 hours. Hell Ground Zeroes probably paid for the budget, and Phantom Pain was pure profit.....

But this would involve actually giving Konami money.
