Metal Gear Solid 2 worldwide sales
With the upcoming European release of Metal Gear Solid 2, sales of the game continue to rise.
Konami has announced that preorders for Metal Gear Solid 2 in Europe have reached 1.57 million units, surpassing the company's original expectations of 1 million units. With those numbers included, Konami expects to ship a total of 4.5 million units of Metal Gear Solid 2 worldwide this fiscal year. By comparison, the original Metal Gear Solid has sold more than 6.6 million units to date.
The European release of Metal Gear Solid 2 is currently scheduled for March 8.
