Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance ships

Konami announces that the enhanced version of Solid Snake's latest adventure is now available for the Xbox.

Konami has announced that the Xbox version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, which is effectively an enhanced version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty , a game that was released for the PS2 almost a year ago. In addition to the entire Sons of Liberty episode, Substance features more than 200 VR missions, 100 alternate missions, five "Snake tales" miniepisodes, and the ability to play through the entire game as Snake or the elusive ninja character rather than being forced to use Raiden for the majority of it. Substance will also feature the extreme difficulty setting from the European version of Sons of Liberty and the boss fight mode from the Japanese version.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for the Xbox is available in stores now, although the Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty versions won't be available until the second quarter of 2003.
