Metal Gear going Online

ROFL, Xbox fans are teh funny. Reasons why MGS4 wont go to Xbox, 1. Its too big for dvd. Apparently its using all 50gb of space for this game, that means an xbox360 port would be short, and alot would be cut out, and itll probably be as short as gears so that they still have enough room to make the graphics look good Reason 2, MGS 2 for Xbox Failed, the control scheme sucked, and not enough people bought the game to make it worth porting. Konami will bring other games to 360 for sure, but they wont make the same mistake twice, specially since MGS4 has been promoting the PS3 in its trailers lol. reason 3 MGS Twin snakes was a remake of the first game, and thats what was ported over to gamecube, not snake eater. The game did okay, but the console failed ROFL. And with the wiimote being teh suck with shooters and my god, I owuld not want to play MGS with that thing anyway, I dont expect a MGS port to nintendo for a loooooong while if ever. Konami is third party yes, but kojima is PS3, and whatever kojima says on MGS's behalf well, his will be done. Sorry Xbox, but Mass Effect is teh rock and Im gonna be all over that like a bag of potato chips.

Willz822 its not 25gb in a blu-ray its 50gbs and i heard Kojima is using all of its space to make this game

Sounds pretty deep. I would love to play it. I tire of run and gun multiplayer games these days.

Metal Gear going Online....... 6 months later Metal Gear going Offline

NeoNavarro Just because this game is on a Blu-Ray disc doesn't exactly mean the game data on the disc is 25GB's. It can be 8GB or less and still on a Blu-Ray Disc. There are no game that on either X-Box 360 and PS3 that are over 8GB...yet. This game is not going to push the PS3 to any limit we wont be seeing games doing that for years to come. Programmers, developers, and artists are just scratching the surface as to what they can do on the PS3 and 360. If MGS4's graphics are the best PS3 could do then I say don't waist your money. What the hell are you talking about? Resistance: Fall of Man is already over 8GB. Stop being so stupid and blind to one company.

Awesome! and if kojima's projects so far are anything to go by, this is going to be an absolutely stunning experience. And when they say "ps3 exclusive" it usually means, ps3 exclusive... when will you guys understand that it aint coming to 360, do they need to slap a big ol "ONLY ON PS3" on the box a'la 360? relax, you still have halo 3, enjoy yourselves. P.s: hopefully kojima will still continue mgs sometime later on in his life, i keep picturing coming back in the year 2020-something with grey hair and an eyepatch like old snake, :P

Why is this a separate game? Why not include it with MGS4? Seems like an excuse to pay 60 bucks twice.

That must have never happened if this series had always been a PS exclusive. If the 360 doesn't get a version by Christmas 08, I'll get a used copy when I do finally get PS3. I'm not spending $500 on a system if Sony has even said they are really focusing on the end of 08 to prove themselves.

man I have been looking at the forums and so many people have had their messages hidden and probably a point deduction! I had that too. If someone knows how to contact gamespot please send me a message to my gamer account because this is STUPID. someone got their message deleated for saying cool and just because I said that I had a ps3 I am getting points deducted. If anyone can help me please do so as it is unfair on all of us that gamespot staff cannot be bothered to check messges before having a go at us.

Yeah but scriptwrite, X360 couldn't handle MGS4. This game is gonna push the PS3 to its limits, Kojima will want to make a massive impact since its the last MGS game, and possibly his last game in the industry. Why you think they use Blu-Ray disks, so they can fit it all in!

i dais 2 things about this game or the last months and ill say them again first "if u want have mgs4 buy a ps3" second to the reviewers at gamespot get ready to give metal gear solid 4 a 10 out of 10.

Devil May Cry fans said the same...and look now, it's coming to the 360... Resident Evil.... hmm also on the 360... Metal Gear Solid fans said the same... Hold on... Oh My God, Metal Gear Solid 2 is on the original Xbox...and well damn... Snake Eater is on the gamecube...Metal Gear Solid multiplatform.... no way! ....reads Grand Theft Auto 4..... on the 360? I don't believe it... nope, can't... it's always been on the Playstation, what the hell is happening here? Once exclusive games, going multi platform.... God get me out of this nightmare! The fact is, a lot of third party franchises are going multi platform because there is more profit to be had. For now, Metal Gear Solid is a PS3 exclusive...but it's not 100% certain it will remain that way forever.

There's a very good possibility that Metal Gear is coming to the 360. Sons Of Liberty was released on the original Xbox... Konami aren't loyal to Sony, they're a multi platform supporter. If there's money to be made by porting it to the 360, they'll make it. No matter what the Sony fans say... simple truth... they go where the money is.

Apparently the 360 version will have this feature AND online co-op. And better graphics too. Probably.

I would buy Metal Gear Portable Ops Plus if it retailed for $20 at launch. I won't buy the same game again with a little extra content for anything more. Edit: I didn't realize Ops Plus would be a follow up. The name is just kind of leading.

Well I hope they add the old maps as well. They were kick ass! and hopefull some new game modes though I wish they would keep the Octocom in online. Pity though. All I want is a Shotgun,a flash Grenade and my G36!!

Carpe_Noctume what do you mean about "i dont know if an online mode would save the franchise". The franchise doesn't need to be saved man this is one of the best franchises out there. Their is no way that this franchise is even in danger. It never has been and never will be.Aside from all that i'm kinda glad this is the last Metal Gear Solid of course i will miss the franchise but we will be able to see what the next franchise is that Hideo Kojima and his wonderful crew at Kojima Productions have in store for us (that is if they have one).

i just had a.....what do you call it well lets call it a moment of clarity on the whole consle war thing i was cleaning out my closet and at the back of it under all the empty Dr. Pepper cans & discarded pizza boxes i found my og launch day *SEGA DREAMCAST* i picked it up i loked at it for a good 5 min my first thought was the memory of opening it playing power stone having a blast than another dark memory poped into my head it was when i red that sega was done with consoles and the dreamcast was dead i felt realy bad i mean i got over it but still it hurts when yore console of choice dies i mean youre average gamer can only afford or simply only chooses one console and when it dies that sucks total nard that is when it hit me the reason these console wars are so heated is because we have all seen consoles die its hapend before it will happen again and any ground loss pushes us closer to the brink so...... from a former console fan boy to those who curently fight the war i salute you

personally, i think its a bit rich of them to tout this as a standalone game. Surely this should be a multiplayer mode for Guns of the Patriots, not a seperate title???

Azhar85 I'll never likes this games....i'll played metal gear solid 3 once at my friend house...but I'll passed to play the games because it's not interesting...so..it's doesn't change anything if it still ps3 exclusive...but for ps3 fans...don't be moron if u think this game made you proud of urself..because this game is not truely release yet....
