Today during the Capcom Showcase, the company announced that Mega Man X Dive--the mobile Mega Man adventure which was previously only available in two countries--is coming to the West in a new offline edition.

Mega Man X Dive Offline is a side-scrolling 2D action platformer set in a digital depository called The Deep Log, which contains information from all of the Mega Man X games. Players are able to play as multiple characters from throughout the MMX franchise and use them to complete missions in stages also pulled from the series, while also leveling up characters, weapons, and more.

While the game does feature the classic Mega Man style of gameplay, there are a few notable changes. Enemies do not drop recovery items, for example, and while individual stages from Mega Man X's history will be included, each one is separated into five missions.

Starting characters include Mega Man X, Zero, and Axl, but more can be unlocked as players progress, with unlocks including villains like Sigma and Vile, and characters from other Mega Man games such as Mega Man Volnutt, Roll Caskett, and Tron Bonne from Mega Man Legends.

Mega Man X Dive Offline will launch for Steam and mobile devices in the West later this year. The game first launched in March 2020 in parts of Asia, but the game is set to be deactivated in September 2023.
