Electronic Arts has today released new gameplay information on Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, which is scheduled for release in early 2004. Currently in development at EA Los Angeles, the game will be set in the Pacific theater of operations from 1941-1944. The single-player game will see players assuming the role of a Marine recruit named Tom Conlin, who, after surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor, leads the assault on Guadalcanal before charging up the beaches for the climatic battle at Tarawa. The game will feature a brand-new arsenal of authentic weapons, although further details on the weapons that will be included have not been released at this time.

In addition to the single-player game, Medal of Honor Pacific Assault will feature a number of new multiplayer modes in which up to 32 players will be able to participate simultaneously. Further information on the new gameplay modes has not been released, but EA has stated that players will be able to choose to play as soldiers from a number of different armies, including the American, British, and Japanese forces.
