Blockbuster has announced that it has reached an agreement with Capcom to make the PlayStation 2 action game Maximo available for rent at its stores nationwide on January 18, a month before the game goes on sale in mid-February. The game is guaranteed to be in stock later this week at Blockbuster locations nationwide.

"We want Blockbuster to be the first place our customers think of as their source for games,'' says Brian Woodrick, director of Interactive Merchandising at Blockbuster. "And we want customers to rent their games before they buy, so we're going to be bringing our customers lots of special offers this year.''

Maximo will be available to buy on February 18.
