Rockstar Games has today announced that a Game Boy Advance version of Max Payne is currently in development and is scheduled for release in North America on December 16. The game is based on the original PC and console action title of the same name and will comprise 10 levels filled with New York City's most sinister inhabitants.

A number of popular features from the original Max Payne will appear in the GBA version, including the "bullet time" slow motion gunplay technique and the graphic novel-style intermissions that tell the game's twisted story. As players progress through the game, they'll gain access to an arsenal of around eight different weapons, although more specific details have not yet been released.

We'll bring you more information on the GBA version of Max Payne as soon as it becomes available.
