Max Payne preorder problems

Remedy and 3D Realms' third-person shooter encounters some troubles across the border.

Comments

George Broussard, owner of 3D Realms, has updated his .plan with a status update on preorders for Max Payne and an explanation of why some preorders haven't been shipped out. "We had it all lined up to get our units Monday [morning] so we could ship most of them that night," Broussard said in the update. "Apparently someone at the production facility (that built the Max Payne boxes) in Canada screwed up on the customs form. FedEx moved the shipment to Memphis, Tenn., and held them there. They were lost in the system for half a day as people tracked them down. So we scrambled and hired a trucking company to drive to Memphis, load the Max boxes, and drive them back to Dallas so we can ship them." Since the announcement, these preorders have been shipped, and they should be received by Friday.

Max Payne should be showing up on store shelves as early as today. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage .
