Max Payne nears completion

3D Realms' George Broussard gives a status update on the third-person shooter.

Comments

3D Realms owner George Broussard recently updated his .plan with information on the impending release of the gritty third-person shooter Max Payne. A release candidate will be done this week, which means that no new features will be incorporated into the game and the team will focus only on bug fixes. Broussard also stated that a demo should be made available a few weeks after the retail release. Unfortunately, an official release date has yet to be announced, but the current build of the game has been so stable that it should make the current target release date.

Max Payne is being co-developed by 3D Realms and Remedy Entertainment. In the game, players assume the role of an undercover cop who's framed for a murder and subsequently chased by both the New York City police and the mob. GameSpot will have a full feature preview of Max Payne tomorrow. For more information on Max Payne, take a look at our 2774882previous coverage .
