Max Payne for the Mac goes gold

MacSoft will release the Macintosh version of Take-Two's award-winning action game next month.

Westlake Interactive and Infogrames' MacSoft division have announced that the Macintosh version of Max Payne, Take-Two's award-winning action game from 2001, has gone gold and will ship to stores on July 16.

Max Payne, which was released in July 2001, lets players assume the role of an undercover cop on a mission to destroy a Mafia network in New York City. The game received a number of awards, including GameSpot's Readers' Choice PC Game of the Year for 2001. For more information, take a look at our full review of the PC version of the game.
