Max Payne 2 coming to Xbox next

The release of the Microsoft-console version of Rockstar's hard-boiled crime shooter moves up a week.

Looks like Christmas is coming early for Xbox gamers, now that Rockstar has moved the release date of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne up a week. Instead of debuting alongside its PlayStation 2 counterpart December 2, the Xbox version will now ship on November 26. No reason for the date change was given.

Already available for the PC, the third-person shooter is the sequel to the hard-boiled, Rockstar-published, Remedy-developed Max Payne. Featuring more advanced graphics and a more bullet-resistant antihero than its predecessor, Max Payne 2 takes gamers on another bloody journey through New York's underworld. The review of the PC version of the game is already available on GameSpot.

Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne will retail for $49.99. The unapologetically violent game is rated "M" for mature.
