Mastiff has recently announced that it plans to release Technic Beat for the PlayStation 2 toward the end of this summer. Developed by Arika, the game sees players dancing to tunes taken from popular Namco titles and, if they're successful, gaining the power to manipulate and remix the music represented by concentric rings of sound. Technic Beat supports competitive and cooperative play for two players, and features four gameplay modes in total, including arcade, free, challenge, and sudden death.

"Technic Beat is family entertainment with something for music and dance lovers, Namco fans, and anyone else looking for something different," said Bill Swartz of Mastiff.

"Technic Beat was an extremely popular game in Japan, both in the arcades and on the PS2, and we are thrilled to see it released in the US," added Masaharu Ogata, producer at Arika.

No European release for Technic Beat has been announced at this time. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
