Masters, Monsters, and Samurai

ASCII to introduce two new PlayStation titles.

Comments

ASCII Entertainment has two Sony PlayStation titles in the works, and videogames.com has pictures to prove it.

The first, Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia, will be a one- to four-player turn-based strategy game in which players act as one of six "masters," within 40 different regions. ASCII is touting hundreds of hours of gameplay and in-depth strategy not typically found in multiplayer games. More than 85 monsters will be available for players to summon, each acting and battling differently depending on the terrain and environment. MoM is expected during the third quarter of this year.

The second, Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman, is a third-person, single-player title in which players elect the male or female character, who will lug a sword and a gun through about 12 different stages of play. There are reportedly plans for around 40 unique enemies and seven boss characters you'll have to battle throughout notably "mature audience" gameplay packed with exceptional violence. The game is expected for the PlayStation during the first quarter of '99.
